New Edited Pics

I FINALLY figured out how to do what I have been trying to accomplish for a year now!!!! the funny thing is it happened by pure accident when I had Photoshop open and was playing around with it and trying to learn some new things. Then my cat, Chester, walked across my keyboard with me screaming at him the whole way!! When he finally got off of it, I could see where my black and white picture now had a bit of color to it!!!!! So I thanked Chester, told him I was sorry for screaming obsceneties at him and went to town trying to figure out what he did.....LOL Here are the two pics that I came up with. What do you think?

Memorial Day

I hope that everyone had a safe and blessed Memorial Day. Tony and I spent the day together out running around. We started off on the square in Sulphur Springs so I could snap pictures of all the flags that were out and the memorial monument. Then we headed to Lone Star Park for the horse races. After about the 2nd race though we decided real quick that it was just too crowded and way too hot to be outside all afternoon. So we left there and headed back towards home. We stopped off along the way and my hubby bought me a little 5 gallon tabletop aquarium for my desk! How sweet he is!!! I picked out a few new fishes for it and hurried home to get it set up and put my betta fish, "Hercules" over in. Poor Hercules has lived in a goldfish bowl beside my kitchen sink for about 3 monthes now. In the process of getting him out of his bowl to transfer him into his new kingdom, he jumped and went straight down the kitchen drain!!!!! YIKES!!!! Thankfully Tony was able to go outside and flush him out of the drain and save him. So now he is happy and safe in his new home with the others atop my desk!

Galveston Weekend

Last week we took a 2.5 day trip to Galveston Island, Texas with our good friends Christina & Auke. We all had such a fun time that we did not even want to come home!!! Jack & Gracie had the time of their lives chasing each other on the beach. Christina took a few THOUSAND photos I think, and me......I just truly enjoyed getting away from home for a few days!!! Christina is still teaching me my photography techniques and skills but I am enjoying every minute I get to spend with my camera. While we were in Galveston we also found this real old cemetery that was just all grown up with wild flowers. It was totally beautiful and we spent about an hour there alone snapping pics. I love to look at the old monuments and flowers are one of my favorite photo subjects anyway. I will post more pics from this trip on my MySpace page.

MaKenzi's Birthday

Sunday was MaKenzi's 3rd birthday. My goodness how she has grown since she arrived in our lives 3 years ago!!! We only had her for a few hours on Sunday to celebrate and she totally loved her little SpongeBob cake!!! Her aunt NayNay got her a precious glass tea set in a case and so we both had to have a "tea party" with her right there in Memaw's hallway! Maybe next time we can be invited to the Queen's castle for tea!!!

Lake Fork Sunset

Last night I decided to get out and watch the sunset over Lake Fork. My hubby, being the lake guide, fortunatly knew of the perfect spot to catch the best view of the sunset. Here are some of the results from this photo shoot. Now I am ready to go shoot some COZOMEL sunsets!!!!

Galveston Trip

Well this past weekend we went away with friends to the Galveston, Texas beach for a few days of picture taking and beach bumming it. We had a blast and I took soooooo many photos. Unfortunatly, there was only a handful that I was really proud of and then I got that one "lucky shot". I am still not sure what or how I did it, but I absolutely LOVE this shot!!!! It looks like there are diamonds in the sand!! I will post more pics later this week when I have more time.

Jack's First Hotel Stay

Well it is almost 2am and we just checked into a very nice LaQuinta in Houston (we are almost to the beach.....YIPPEE). Anyway, this is the first time ever for Jack to stay in a hotel and he is not quite sure what all the excitement is about. He has been running around in teh room for the past 30 minutes checking out every little nook and cranny. I will have to get a video of him when he first sets foot on the beach tomorrow and lays eyes on those waves that are going to chase him....LOL!

Thanks to everyone who has signed on to follow my blog. I am not sure how exciting it will be for yall as I tend to lead a pretty boring life, but I will try and keep it updated at least once a week. AND I will get signed on with you guys as soon as I can catch up on my computer work as well. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Scooter My Squirrel

I was playing around with my new camera late last night and caught my little buddy "Scooter" out of his condo looking for dinner as he does every night. I gave him this mammoth pecan and he thought he had died and gone to HEAVEN!!! He managed to drag that big thing back into the hole of his condo somehow too! Guess he didn't want to risk losing his new found prize...LOL

My Mother's Day 2009

I had a wonderful mother's day with my family this year. My youngest daughter, her husband and the new little grandson, Brayden came over and we cooked on the grill, played with my precious little grandson and took some cute pictures of us all. Then afterwards we went to visit my own Mom and also saw my oldest daughter and my little granddaughter, MaKenzi. She is a "camera ham" and loves to pose (usually) for NaNa's crazy photo sessions!
