Lake Fork Birds

  • We have recently discovered a family of wood ducks that are living in our cove on Lake Fork. They consist of the Daddy, Mommy and ELEVEN little adorable babies! We went out late this evening looking for them but apparently Mommy and Daddy had put them to bed already down in a hollowed out tree. I got some pictures of the parents but those babies didn't come out for anything! I will keep watching for them though. I also got a few shots of a blue heron and a egret.

More Lake Fork Photos

Here are a few more photos I got today from being out around the lake.

Sunsets at "Bird Island"

On Lake Fork there is a small island just north of the 154 bridge that everyone calls "Bird Island". If you have ever seen it then you would know why. It is COVERED in birds for some odd reason. Anyway, I told my husband this evening that i wanted to take a boat ride out by this island and get some pics of the birds. I did not count on the added surprise of the BEAUTIFUL sunset to use as the backdrop for my pics but it work out beautifully I think. What do you think?

Raindrops

Well I was standing outside about to get ready to walk off and see what I could find to take pictures of around here, when all of a sudden it began to rain......no it began a DOWN POUR!!!! So I had to stay under the canopy with my camera. I decided the rain was not going to stop me from snapping a few shots and here is what I got.
